Flickwit Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for FlickWit
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Who provides FlickWit
FlickWit is the movie trivia game published as Vividedge Games by Vividedge UK LTD ("we", "us" or "our"). This notice explains information handled by the Android game and its advertising and purchase services. For FlickWit privacy and data-protection enquiries, email info@vividedge.uk. This inbox is monitored by VividEdge UK Ltd. Please include "FlickWit privacy request" in your subject line so your enquiry can be identified. You may also use the publisher contact details displayed on FlickWit's Google Play listing.
FlickWit does not require a separate player account, a player name or an email address to play. This does not mean every piece of information handled by the game or its service providers is anonymous. Advertising identifiers, IP addresses and purchase records can be personal data.
Game information stored on your device
The game keeps local saves needed to remember your progress and preferences. These include question history and results, scores, experience and levels, unlocked difficulties, mastery, earned and purchased power-up stock, reward claims and allowances, advertising-cadence records, and settings such as music preferences. Local claim and transaction records help prevent repeated rewards or repeated delivery of a purchase.
The current game has no FlickWit-operated account server, cloud inventory wallet, player chat or separate analytics service receiving your full question history. Ordinary trivia and existing local progress can be used offline. Advertising, Google Play purchases and purchase restoration require their relevant services to be available. Android and the Google SDKs can maintain additional service data separately from the game's save files.
Google Play purchases
Optional purchases use Google Play Billing. Google processes the checkout and payment details under its own terms and privacy policy. FlickWit does not receive your full card number or payment credentials. The game receives purchase information needed to check and deliver your purchase, including product identifiers, purchase tokens, signed purchase data, status and related transaction information.
Purchase signatures are checked on the device. The game locally retains purchase and fulfilment records so it can preserve verified Remove Automatic Ads ownership, restore eligible ownership through Google Play, avoid delivering the same token twice and recover interrupted acknowledgement or consumption. We have not added a separate FlickWit purchase-verification or refund server.
Remove Automatic Ads permanently suppresses the game's automatic advertisements while verified ownership is retained. Optional reward videos remain available by choice. Consumable stock is local: restoring permanent ownership does not reconstruct already consumed packs or the remaining balance after a lost save or device change.
Advertising and information used by Google
FlickWit uses Google AdMob through Google's Mobile Ads SDK, together with Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). For launch, we apply the same protective, under-age-safe advertising data treatment to everyone, including adults. This is a restriction on advertising data processing, not a statement that FlickWit is directed at children under 13 or a substitute for its official content rating.
Personalised advertising and remarketing are disabled for all players. Google's documented restricted treatment also prevents Android advertising ID transmission by these ad requests and disables requests to third-party advertising vendors. It does not make advertising anonymous or remove all data processing. Google can still handle information needed for restricted ad delivery and security, such as IP/network information, ad interactions and technical diagnostics. Other permitted SDK/service identifiers or Google Play purchase information may be handled according to the relevant service and restrictions. The release does not add another advertising network or mediation provider.
Permitted processing supports advertisement delivery and measurement, service operation, security and fraud prevention. The restrictions apply regardless of whether a player owns Remove Automatic Ads. Restricted or non-personalised advertising can still require processing for these functions. Advertisement availability may be lower, and an unavailable advert does not stop ordinary play or create an unearned reward.
Automatic ads are restricted to eligible completed-round transitions, rather than active trivia. Optional videos require your choice and grant the disclosed benefit only after the provider reports an earned reward. You do not have to pay or choose an optional video to play ordinary trivia or receive the normal free rewards. Daily Login Rewards do not require advertising or offer video doubling.
Consent and privacy choices
UMP is configured for under-age-of-consent treatment for every player; under this setting it does not ask users to grant advertising consent. The advertising SDK is separately configured for the documented restricted treatment, rather than relying on UMP alone. FlickWit still updates and follows the native service's actual permission state before initialising or requesting advertisements. It never forces permission to true, treats a declined choice as consent or forces a consent reset. If Google's resulting state does not permit an ad request, advertising remains unavailable. Ordinary gameplay remains available.
When Google requires privacy-options access, use Privacy choices in Settings to review or change the available choices. Android also provides advertising-ID and other privacy controls; their names and effects depend on your Android version. Buying Remove Automatic Ads does not remove optional video choices or replace privacy controls.
For more about Google's handling of information and advertising controls, see https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. The relevant participants and purposes are also described by the privacy message when it is shown.
Diagnostics and support
Google Play, Android and the integrated Google SDKs may process crash, performance and other technical information according to their own settings and policies. We may receive the diagnostic reports or aggregated statistics those services make available to the publisher. We do not describe all such information as anonymous or claim that removing the automatic-ad placement disables every Google service.
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, any attachments you choose to send, and information needed to resolve your enquiry. Please do not send passwords, full payment details or unnecessary sensitive information. The website's own privacy and cookie information applies when you visit the policy webpage.
Purposes, sharing and protection
We use necessary game and purchase information to provide the service, maintain your saved entitlements and rewards, and resolve support requests. Where applicable, this processing supports providing the service you request, complying with legal obligations, or our legitimate interests in security, fraud prevention and support. The launch advertising configuration avoids personalised ads and applies the same restrictive processing to every player rather than asking younger users to grant advertising consent. Any privacy choices that Google requires are honoured; the game does not override them.
We do not operate a separate market for selling your saved trivia history. Google nevertheless receives and processes advertising and purchase-related information as described above. Service providers may process information for the relevant functions, and information may also be disclosed where necessary to comply with law or protect rights and security. Google and its providers may process data outside your country under their published arrangements and safeguards.
The game uses Android's application storage boundaries for local files. Google states that data collected by its Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using TLS. These measures do not make a device, local save or network service immune to loss or unauthorised access. Local verification and counters are not a tamper-proof or cross-device account system.
Retention, deletion and your rights
Game saves and local purchase/reward records remain on your device while needed for continuity. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes its local saved data in the normal Android process, but may lose progress and consumable stock. This does not delete Google's transaction history, consent-service records or copies outside the app's control. We do not hold a separate cloud copy of your gameplay progress that we can restore or erase for you.
Support correspondence is retained for resolving the enquiry and any necessary follow-up or legal recordkeeping, then removed when no longer needed. Google controls retention and deletion of information it holds under its own policies and your Google/Android controls; we do not promise that clearing a local save deletes those records.
Depending on your location and the information concerned, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or receive a portable copy. Contact us using the mechanism above for information we hold. For Google-held information, Google's privacy controls and support routes apply. You may complain to your local data-protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk/.
Audience and changes
FlickWit is intended for people aged 13 and over: teens and adults, including the 13–15, 16–17 and 18-and-over age groups. It is not directed at children under 13. This intended audience is separate from the official Google Play/IARC content ratings, which may vary by region. The game contains unfiltered movie-trivia text that can include strong language and mature film themes. Please check the applicable store rating and content information when deciding whether it is suitable for a particular player. The game does not ask for a date of birth or claim to verify every player's age. If you believe a child's personal information has been provided to us, please contact us.
We may update this notice when the game or its services change. The current notice is available from Privacy policy in Settings and at https://www.vividedge.uk/flickwit-privacy-policy, with the revision date shown above.
